How it works

Simple steps, clear promises.

Here's exactly what happens after you upload, what's included, and how we take care of your photos.

  1. Upload

Send a scan or a phone photo of your picture.

  2. Choose and pay

Posted prices. Bigger jobs get a free quote first.

  3. Review your proof

A watermarked proof arrives in 3 business days.

  4. Download

Full-resolution files through a private link once you approve.

Turnaround

Your proof arrives in 3 business days. The clock starts once payment and every photo are in. Orders placed after 2pm ET start the next business day.

Need it sooner? Rush delivery is 48 hours (+50%) or 24 hours (+100%), with limited spots each day. When the schedule is full, the order form shows the next available date so we never promise a day we can't keep.

Revisions and changes

Two rounds of adjustments are included with every order. Here's how we tell an adjustment from a new request.

One list per round

Send each round as one list through the revision link in your proof email. Several messages in one evening still count as one round.

14-day window

Revisions are open for 14 days after your proof. After that the order closes and can be reopened for a small fee.

Refunds

If we can't take on your photo, you get a full refund at assessment. Once your proof is delivered, we make it right through revisions.

Your photos and privacy

These are your family's pictures, and we treat them that way. Files are kept for 60 days after delivery, then deleted. We use editing tools that don't train on your images.

Your photos are never shown in our gallery unless you say yes on the order form. Proofs are watermarked, and full-resolution files go to you once you approve.

Edits we don't do

You confirm that you own each photo or have permission to have it edited. We may decline any edit meant to mislead, such as documents, IDs, insurance claims or legal evidence. Removing an ex from a family photo for your own wall is fine.

How to scan a photo with your phone

A flatbed scan at 600 dpi is best, but a careful phone photo works for most jobs.

  1. Find soft daylight

Lay the photo flat near a window. Avoid direct sun and overhead lamps that cause glare.

  2. Shoot straight down

Hold the phone level over the photo. Turn the flash off.

  3. Fill the frame

Get close enough that the photo fills the screen, then tap to focus.

  4. Send the original file

Upload the full-size image, not a screenshot or a text-message copy.

Questions families ask

Do you use AI?

Yes. AI tools handle the heavy repair, like filling scratches and rebuilding faded detail. Then I check and finish every image by hand before you see it. That combination is how we keep a 3-day turnaround at a fair price.

Can you add someone who has passed away?

Yes. Send the family photo plus a clear photo of your loved one's face, ideally at a similar angle and light. The better the source photo, the more natural the result. We'll look first and send a free quote, then you'll see a proof before anything is final.

Do I need to mail my original photo?

No. A good scan or a careful phone photo works for most jobs. If you're in the Raleigh–Durham area, you can drop it off and we'll scan it for $10. Anywhere else, a $39 mail-in kit covers insured shipping both ways.

What if I'm not happy with the result?

You get two rounds of revisions with every order. Tell us what to change in one list per round, and we'll adjust it.

Can I order prints?

Not yet. For now you receive a full-resolution file through a private download link, ready to print at any lab or store. Prints, canvas and framing are coming soon.

Can I give this as a gift?

Yes. Gift certificates come in any amount and are sent by email. The person who receives it picks the photo.
